Motivational Interviewing
Motivational Interviewing is a person-centered counseling technique utilized to elicit behavior change. This practice session will focus on developing a collaboration relationship with individuals to explore and resolve ambivalence to support change aligning with one’s own personal values and concerns. The session will build upon a prerequisite eLearning course to deeper explore and demonstrate the principles of Motivational Interviewing.

We are highly encouraging you to take a pre-learning course prior to this in-person course. A basic knowldge of MI will be needed for this training, and that will not be covered in this in-person training. If you have a Relias account, you can take two short trainings, Motivational Interviewing, REL-HHS-0-MI-V2 and Motivational Interviewing in Clinical Practice REL-HHS-0-AMI-V2. Or you can sign up for a free training through the Florida Certifcation Board https://fcbonline.remote-learner.net/login/index.php
