Understanding Trauma: Level 3 - Family Home Training
Descript ion: Given what has been learned in Levels 1 and 2, this training will focus on how to execute trauma informed care with children pl aced in family home settings, including family foster care families working towards reunification. The course will cover topics, such as, the logistic s of working with children in a family home environment, how to best prepar e, how to alleviate and respond to stressors in the family home environment , and how to identify and guide expectations. Participants will engage in p ractical activities from a foundation of understanding the scientific and s ociological processes that facilitate pro-social connection and guidance to build resilience.Trainer: Sara Butler
Registration will begin at 8:30 AM. Training will start promptly at 9:00 AM. Lunch is o n your own.
Please note: Priority seating is provided to staff working within one of the DHS child welfare contracts, including: Community Care; Group Foster Care; Family Safety, Risk, and Per manency (FSRP); Child Welfare Emergency Services (CWES): Aftercare Services ; Supervised Apartment Living (SAL); Recruitment, Retention, Training and S upport Services (RRTS); Parent Partners; Foster Care Youth Council. If you do not work within one of the child welfare contracts with the State, you may be bumped from the course and placed on a wait list.
