Family Focused Meetings

We are pleased to announce the Grandfathering Family Focused Meetings (FFM) trainings, part of our ongoing transition from Solution-Based Casework (SBC) to Motivational Interviewing (MI) in the Family Centered Services contract. As you know, Iowa highly values family meeting models, and this transition requires updating our current family meeting structure and curriculum from Solution Focused Meetings to Family Focused Meetings.

This training is scheduled for June 24th from 9a-12p in the Cedar Rapids Service Area (Cedar Rapids, IA) for Four Oaks and Families First Counseling Services and their FCS staff. Please contact CWPTA staff if you have questions or difficulty with the registration link!

Family Focused Meetings (FFM) provide an opportunity to partner with families engaged in the child welfare system. Participants will gain an understanding of the FFM process, which includes social work skills to engage the family with Motivational Interviewing, so potential facilitators can evaluate and utilize FFM meeting facilitation in daily practice.
